Help Mohammad’s Family Survive in Gaza + Mohammad’s Chemotherapy
United States
My name is Mohamad, I am 20 years old, and I live in Gaza with my parents and younger siblings — we are a family of eight trying to survive under the harshest conditions on earth.
Gaza is under constant siege and Israeli bombardment. With borders closed by and supplies deliberately restricted by Israel, the cost of food, water, and medicine has become unbearable. Gaza is now one of the most expensive places in the world to live, yet there are no jobs, no schools, and no income. Even when we are able to withdraw small amounts of money, we are charged commissions as high as 50%. Every day we face impossible choices — yet we still endure, because hope is all we have left.
I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and was scheduled for treatment at Al-Shifa hospital, or possible evacuation abroad. But evacuation costs up to $5,000 per person — far beyond anything my family can afford. Now, with the borders sealed, I am trapped in Gaza without treatment, and the cancer has spread to my lungs. Despite my illness, my family depends on me for daily survival — fetching water, buying food, and taking care of essential tasks. But my body is weak, and every day is a struggle to keep going.
Recently, tragedy struck again. My younger brother, only 13 years old, was shot while simply trying to collect food for our family at the GHF site by Israeli soilders. He was struck in the abdomen and hand. The hospital had no anesthesia available, yet doctors had no choice but to operate on him anyway. No child should ever have to endure that kind of pain — simply for trying to get a bag of flour to feed his family. He is now recovering slowly, but the heat and lack of resources make his suffering even worse.
My family and I do not come to you as beggars. We are people of dignity and resilience, but war has stripped us of every means to survive on our own. We are asking for your help with the most basic human needs: food, clean water, medicine, and electricity through solar panels. Even something as simple as a fan for my brother would ease his suffering as he recovers from his wounds.
I know the world has grown tired of hearing about Gaza, but for us this is our daily reality. Your kindness and generosity can keep my family alive and give us hope in a time when hope feels almost impossible. Every donation, no matter how small, is a lifeline that reminds us we are not forgotten.
From the heart of Gaza, thank you for standing with me and my family. Together, we believe we can overcome even this.

Flour is upwards of $400. Mohammad recently lost two close friends, one of which, was killed in the cafe bombing. He also witnessed horrific violence while simply trying to buy food, 33 people were massacred at the market just a few days prior. Your donation can help cover basic necessities like food and clean water, and support his critical treatment. Every dollar truly counts. Please consider donating, sharing, or sending a message of support, skipping a coffee today and donating the money instead—it could help save his life. Thank you so much for standing with Mohammad and his family
